King's College Chapel
Cambridge - Ely and Newmarket (Visit the England’s second oldest university. Cambridge, like Oxford, has many marvellous medieval cloisters and courtyards. Also King's College Chapel started in 1446 and completed 70 years later. Henry VI  founder of the college and the Chapel, also its famous choir which can be often be heard at services and concerts today. Other places are Church of the Holy Sepulchre, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Ely Cathedral, The home of Oliver Cromwell or The National Horseracing Museum at Newmarket.

Knole House
Kent - Knole House and Sissinghurst.  Visit Knole House, Sevenoaks - dating from 1456 and given to the first Earl of Dorset by Queen Elizabeth I (Open 12:00 - 16:00 Wednesday thru to Saturday). Sissinghurst Castle - garden created by Vita Sackville-West and her husband - Sir Harold Nicholson (Saturday and Sunday 10:00 - 17:30 entry by timed ticket).

The Roman Baths
Bath - City, Roman Baths and Lacock Abbey.  Visit Bath - tour of the City including the Royal Crescent & The Roman Baths, Lacock Abbey in Chippenham which was founded in 1232 (Open 13:00 - 17:30 - closed Tuesday).

 

 


Wales - Hidden Castles in the South of Wales

Day 1

Start this tour by seeking out the well–preserved remains of Grosmont Castle. Later in the day join its two cousins of nearby Skenfrith and White Castles.

Day 2 Visit Caldicot Castle and wind up the day further west at Coity Castle.
Day 3 Ogmore Castle is located in a beautiful, rural spot close to the South Wales Coast. Head towards the wonderful beach–lined Gower Peninsula for another castle at Oxwich. End the day viewing Carreg Cennen at sunset.
Day 4 After a visit to the awesome site of Dinefwr Castle discover the extraordinary history of Llawhaden. Then, further west, on a striking lone rock face, Cilgerran Castle awaits!
 

Wales - Hidden Castles in the North of Wales

Day 1

Visit 13th Century Dolbadarn Castle – one of the finest native Welsh castles. Later you could seek out the hidden treasures of Dolwyddelan Castle, and the wonderful castle at Rhuddlan.

Day 2 Ewloe Castle is a substantial masonry castle possibly constructed around 1257. In the same day you could also visit Dinas Bran and to the North West, Castell Y Bere.
Day 3 Seek out the slight remains of Dolforwyn Castle sitting on a ridge, overlooking the Severn Valley. Later in the day take in Montgomery and further to the South – Bronllys Castle.


 
Edinburgh Castle

Scotland (5 day trips) - Edinburgh, St Andrews, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Loch Ness, plus a tour around all the Scottish Castles and Cathedrals.  Please ask for details.
